DJI Drones Are Not Banned
With the December 23, 2025 Congressional ruling now finalized, we want to clearly state the outcome:
existing DJI drones are not banned, and current customers are unaffected.
The ruling does not ban any DJI drone models currently being sold in the U.S. It does not restrict existing DJI customers from operating their aircraft. And, the ruling provides a path for future model approval.
Data Security
Continued authorization confirms no security risks were discovered. If so, DJI drones would have been subjected to mandatory restrictions or grounding.
Existing Fleets are Legal
All DJI drone models released on or before December 31, 2025, may continue to be sold, operated, serviced, and supported in the United States.
No Operational Limits
There is no sunset clause, no grounding requirement, and no operational limitation placed on existing aircraft.
Future Models Only
The ruling applies exclusively to new DJI models released after December 31, 2025.
Exemptions Exist
Even future models may be eligible for U.S. sale if they meet specific statutory exemption criteria.
